The Second Colour Challenge

Image
Hello again. So it looks like my upline Sue will advertise the colours every Sunday. My plan is to create a colour challenge blog post and publish every Tuesday. That gives you time to create a card of your own before the following Tuesday. This is the plan anyway. The colours this week are Pacific Point, Sahara Sand and Soft Sky. Here is my card:   This colour combination did make me think of the ocean - the sand, water and sky especially having experienced such elements during my recent trip to the Hawaiian Islands. My inspiration came from a card made by Amanda from The Craft Spa blog. The three pearls represent seashells one could find while on a walk. However, I didn't find any. And besides, we are no longer permitted to take anything from a beach. It's really frowned upon. We are to simply look and admire. This card measures 5 x 5 in Soft Sky. I cut the Whisper White piece to 3 x 3 and the Sahara Sand cardstock was cut with the Layering Squares framelits (one of the scall...

A Colour Challenge

Image
I'm participating in a weekly colour challenge created by my upline Sue and I'm challenging you to join me. How it works: Sue will select a colour combination and post it to her team. The challenge is to incorporate these three colours on a card. The media used can be card stock, ink, or embellishments such as ribbon. I used the stamp set called Avant Garden , a Sale-A-Bration free item that, by the way, you can till get until March 31. It's a versatile set because of the ability to build the flowers, lovely greetings and a bit of background grunge.  Here is the card I created: I loved this card so much, I decided...

Seashore Stampers Blog Hop - Easter

Image
With Easter just around the corner this month's Blog Hop is devoted to showcasing a hand made project for this springtime event. Most of us purchase some treats for our children, husbands, grandchildren. etc. so there are lots of options for packaging up such sweet gifts. For example, you could purchase a set of mini egg cartons, fill with treats and decorate the exterior. Or, in the Annual Catalogue, there are varying sizes of cellophane bags. Fill them up ad tie with ribbon or create a bag topper. As for creating cards, take a look at page 18 in the Occasions catalogue to see a wonderful stamp set and coordinating framelits. I will be making a number of things but here I am showcasing a card to send to my sister and her family. I used the Basket Bunch stamp set and coordinating framelits to create this card. This was a labour of love as there were quite a few pieces to cut out using the framelits plus the colouring of the bunnies but it was so fun to make. If you look carefull...
