Hello everyone, Oh my gosh - I'm late again. I'm feeling like the Mad Hatter - trying to get too many things done at one time. I had completed my card on Monday but just did not find the time to post it. Well here it is: My card features the By the Tide stamp set. I had the DSP as scraps on my desk which I was able to incorporate into the design. I used the Night of Navy seam binding ribbon as the horizontal line. The coral piece is punched with the 2.5" circle punch (stamped in Calypso Coral). I coloured the fish using a blender pen and stamp pads, cut it out and adhered it with dimensionals. You probably can't see this but I did colour it with the Wink of Stella pen. I hope you enjoy making a card with this sketch. Yes, well, you know, life, etc. Here is my interpretation of the card sketch. I started with a layer of DSP from the 'It's My Party' paper stack. The piece with the pink polka dots is a piece of vellum that I ran through the Big Shot with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder. On the backside, I used a sponge dauber to apply Melon Mambo ink. The black horizontal strip of cardstock is embossed with the Chevron embossing folder. I then punched a piece of Mint Macaron with the large scallop punch. The greeting is from the Party Pants stamp set, one of the three new items added to Sale-A-Bration. I punched it out with the 2" circle punch, glued it to the scallop circle and then mounted it onto the card with dimensionals. I stamped the balloon from the Balloon Celebration stamp set and punched it out with the coordinating punch. It also has a dimensional on it. Lastly, I used Glossy Accents to add a few droplets to the balloon. That effect may be difficult to see in the phot...

Hello again, On Saturday I attended the first Stampin' Up! Demonstrator meeting for Victoria. These types of meetings are usually held in Nanaimo but we thought one held in Victoria would allow for more attendance/participation by local demonstrators. The morning consisted of a talk about listing your objectives with regards to your membership with Stampin' Up! - do you want to run it as a hobby (getting a discount for your paper crafting supplies) or as a business (making income). The majority of demonstrators prefer to join Stampin' Up! to get the minimum 20% discount on all products but many run it as a business, earning income to support their living expenses or to supplement their existing income for the special things in life. These types of meetings are just one of the many perks you get when becoming a member of Stampin' Up! Last Thursday I spent a wonderful evening with Dale Hampshire, Manager for Stampin' Up! Canada,  and the Canadian Strategy Summit team. I received this invitation, along with a few other local demonstrators, for a meet and great, stamp and eat evening. The summit team consists of several Independent Demonstrators from across the country. It's purpose is to meet once per year in a different location to brainstorm ideas on creating specific programs to benefit Canadian demonstrators.  We had some crafting fun making two cards designed by two of the team members and I'm posting the photos here to share with you. The two stamp set used were the Botanical Blooms and A Nice Cuppa. As we stamped away, two demonstrators presented us with some of their business strategies - so not only an evening of fun, but a learning opportunity as well. Hello everyone, Here is another Mojo Monday sketch for you. I really enjoyed making this card and I relied on a few scraps left over from recent projects. I had a 1/4 piece of cardstock in Blackberry Bliss that I had punched a circle from. I used that as my first layer on the Crumb Cake card base. I then backed the circle frame with another left over piece of DSP (Wildflower Fields) - I absolutely love this paper. It's one of the free Sale-A-Bration items that is still available until the end of March. The stamped the focal image with the coordinating Flowering Fields stamp set and coloured with markers.
